I’ve put up HomeWolf’s new look today. This process, unfortunately, required me to reset everyone’s theme choice; if you have one of the Smokey looks chosen, you can still choose those again on your profile. I still have some minor touch-ups and graphical things I am needing to do.

Please let me know what you think! I know it’s a bit of a radical change, but I personally like it. ^.

Some of you were here when my mother posted on this site, some became friends with her. Some will remember her simply as MomWolf. To those of you who knew her, I am sad to pass on the news that after a several month battle with cancer, my mother passed away today, at 5:28pm EST.

I was there with her, holding her hand, as she passed, and she went peacefully in her sleep.

I love you, mom.

If you tried to hit the site within the last few day, you may have noticed that it was down. Automatic software upgrades installed a new version of a library that was not quite compatible, and when the sites went down for weekly maintenance, they could no longer load.

All fixed now, I think. If you notice any bugs, please let me know!

I’ve turned off the graphical emoticons for now. There seems to be some issues with the parsing, so until I get time to look at that, you’re gonna be stuck with just the text-based ones. ;)

Okay, after long last, I have a theme system built into a new site. I have to stress that this is, currently, a very beta system…but so far, works great. Even more so, it allows for a theme to totally dictate page layout, meaning that it’s not just a swap of graphics files like on the last version of the website.

That said, chances are, going forward, most themes I will create will be aimed for non-Internet Explorer browsers. (Mostly Firefox and Safari browsers.) MSIE just sucks that horribly bad. I will be re-working and updating the default theme so that it will be browser neutral. If a theme is not so nice for MSIE, it will have (Non-MSIE!) in the menu item.

Right now, there are only 3 choices: Default (old school HW theme), Smoke (Blue), and Minimum (For Testing). I have several more color versions of Smoke coming in the next come days, though I am heavily still tweaking the Blue version to make sure I have all page elements covered.

But, notice how the menus are different? I love that. :D I also cleaned up the menus a bit, as well, like I combined the Copyright and Policy pages into the Posting Policy, so they are all together. I’m not listing individual forums either.
