So, noticing the lack of posting lately, I asked my sister if she had any ideas on how to get people to post again and she replied, “Contests!” So, that is what I am gonna do. Starting shortly, within a week or so, I’ll introduce a poetry contest again. Probably starting with a haiku contest, because haikus just rock. The prize? Um. Um…mad respect and praise? Maybe I can work out something later on.

Anyone interesting? Then say so!

Happy April Fool’s Day! Once the dogs took over Homewolf, this time, looks like teh kittehs have done so instead! Meow!

To all geeks, who like me, got into Dungeons and Dragons at a young age, you know precisely who Gary Gygax is. I am sad to say, that he has passed away today. To the founder of a hobby I have come to love and cherish deeply, a whole world-wide community owes you thanks and will miss you.

Much of who I am today, I owe to finding D&D and playing. It encourages creativity, critical thinking, and develops vocabulary. It encourages social gathering and shared stories and does not nearly deserve the bad reputation that right-wing fundamentalists tried to give in the 80’s. (I won’t deny some guys helped with the bad rep, but they were messed up to begin with, gaming or no gaming.)

I still RP to this day, and even will be starting another D&D game here soon. So, next time you play an MMO , or an RPG on a console game, or if you are involved with a table-top RPG group, roll a d20 for Gary.

Well, after long last, the new version of Homewolf is done! (Mostly, kinda-sorta.) There are still some things that need to be worked out, but the core of the site is up and running. The layout is a bit different from what you are used to, and things will change even more over the next few days.

Some things to note:

• The old site is still available so you can still access your old posts, however, new posting there has been disabled.
• Most of the Chat board is gone for now. If there is a chat post you must have here, e-mail me and let me know and I’ll move it over by hand.
• Story Board is gone, sorta. There is a a Stories Forum, but very few people actually used the Story Board as it was intended, so I decided not to waste the energy in recreating it here.
• Peanut butter.
• Everyone has in-site e-mail! Click on a user’s name and then on then on the e-mail link. This does not require a real e-mail address.
