Full Glass Emptied

Forever loved never,
But they were doomed for virtue.
Lonely in dread,
They let go of the fool.

Dark days were plenty,
But never had they seen.
Blood would be trivial,
And nightmares obscene.

Did you know
I had died for you?
Did you know
I had lived for you?

Cry again for doom,
But shed no tears for me.
I’ll be back one day,
And I swear I’ll set you free.

Ab aeterno,
A bene placito,
Ad infinitum,
Bibere venenum in auro.
Bona fide,
Bella gerant alii.
Caeca invidia est,
Cetera desunt,
Cave!

(From the beginning of time,
At one’s pleasure,
To infinity,
Drink poison from a cup of gold.
Acting in good faith,
Let others wage war.
Envy is blind,
The rest is missing,
Beware!)

Cry again for doom,
But shed no tears for me.
Cry again for doom,
But shed no tears for me.
I’ll be back one day,
And I swear I’ll set you free.
I swear I’ll set you free!

Note: The translations are probably crude, but I don’t believe they’re actually incorrect. I rather like this song, and plan to actually produce it. :3

I wrote the song I just posted, and just read yours. I also used ‘bona fide’; I am lucky. Your words also work to the music I wrote. Actually, the work better. If I ever record it, I will record both and let you be the judge.

I love your poem/song. It is wonderful.

Well. This is interesting. I think our usage of bona fide is different in that I believe I used it more as the Latin philosophical term and you used it more in its American implied usage, no?

I appreciate that.
