Sulfur In The Morning
The smell of a faded candle
Lingers through the chill of this early morning.
The dim of a clouded moon casts upon me
The shadows of my reality.
Mushrooms of billowing fog
Might carry me far.
Too far away.
The shivers of frozen time
Won’t thaw in the blanket of velvet darkness.
Send red eyes to glisten.
Gazing up so high.
Up to where the dreams fly
And the past is locked
In the face of the moon.
I’m casting out constellations;
Scanning the sky in search of you.
Looking for the secrets that turn the world.
Living in the soot of a forgotten fire.
Dying in cold rain
Beneath the moon
And aching for you.
