What I saw

If I were to say how I have changed.
I would say life is no longer so much the same.
How, when I look into the mirror of your face,
the smile is different.
A wave no less conscience driven or just given!
What was held back is opened outright.
And I was, was I not the one who misunderstood?
Thank God.

Can I be so bold? Say what I want?
How should I carry myself?
Sing a tribute to the people who are no longer quiet,
hold on to them and cry out loud.
Wave wildly passed along in the crowd.
Feels like somethings right in the world,
even as my kind falls by the wayside.
Hopes for tomorrow burn in this climate.
Unheard of naiveté discerning faults
as tears fall along well corridored trails,
deeply scarred in our faces.

Come with me and bury your fears,
Illegitimacy has bred away through these years,
strengthened miserably by waiting
lengthened, passionate, patiently.
It’s given wide open, when all thought it was gone.
We are made strong,
pulling together what they thought was all wrong.
Our strength will carry on.
and then we become one.
